After recording the method followed by each operator, We take the best elements from various operators, identify and eliminate NVA’s and to train operators and develop the Bench mark method for each operation. Yes one of the best advantage of VAS is you can do the time study even running the video in slow motion. One of the best tool to evaluate the operation, identify the NVA in the operation, Help to make the operator to realise how is their performance against the best operator. By moving the video in slow motion to make the person understand why he/she can’t meet the time.

The visibility of the lines working and the output although done manually always have a difference and hence variance. Advantages of using UHS:
o Helpers who were being used for matching parts in assembly were removed – a minimum of 3 helpers per line, in total 30 people in Electronic City unit. The WIP in assembly has maintained very effectively and controlled to optimum extent.
o The repair found was immediately highlighted and will get correct, no opportunity to dump the rework pieces
o The handling of garments in few operations at assembly has reduced a lot – like Cuff Attach/Bottom Hem etc.
o UHS has been chosen to have optimum WIP control, being an economic tool, its 100% operator friendly
o May be the width to be relooked again as it is consuming little more area
o Than the conventional centre table concept, which may be a constraint for switch over.
